Recital

Please find attached the Recital order for both May 16th and 17th.
 
                                           
~~~Tickets for the Recital are available for purchase at both Java Domain and the Studio office.~~~
 
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Tickets are $5.00 per person, per evening~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 
                                        Children 4 years of age and younger and all dancers are free.
 
                                                     Both evenings from 6:00-9:00pm
 
 Please have your child at the St.Isidore Cultural Centre at 5:00pm on the evening they are performing (exceptions noted)


Please ensure that your child has eaten, or brings a clean snack/water if necessary. There will be a light snack available during intermission - (generously donated from local businesses)
 
The Recital Volunteer sign-up sheet has been posted at the Studio. This will be the last opportunity to earn your volunteer points for this season.
Everyone is welcome to help out, if your points have been earned.
 
Set- up/decorating will be on the evening of May 15th. Anyone interested in assisting please call Ursula at (780)624-4901 or email at dancemomum@gmail.com
 
 
We would like to extend our appreciation to all the families, friends and Teachers for supporting our students, as we now CELEBRATE their success in this wonderful Recital.

Reminders & Information

The alternate schedule is now in effect for this week and next week.
Competitive students do not have any classes scheduled for the next two weeks as they are at Festival.

All picture orders have been placed in the family folders. Any water bottle/cup orders, are beside the folders with family names written on them.
If you have any concerns with your orders, please contact Pam or Trish at Foto-Source. (780-624-2200)

 
Members will receive an email by the end of the month, outlining any credits applicable to Hip-Hop and Musical Theatre costumes, as well as for classes that changed. 
 
With the Year-end Recital being held on May 16th and 17th, we would like to confirm that classes will still run until May 25th. The Teachers would like to wrap up the season with some dance activities, treats and fun.
 
The schedule for next year will be available by mid May. New classes, new times and more fun!!   (no increase to class fees and lower costume fees)
 
Registrations for next year, will be held on June 5th and 6th - (5:00pm to 8:00pm) on both evenings, at the Studio.          ***************        (Early registration discounts apply)
 
Plans for our Summer Dance Camp are underway! Details will be provided in the next couple weeks.

Recital

Dear Members,
 
The Club has had a very challenging time securing a facility for our Year-end Recital. Due to schedule conflicts and availability, we can not host the Recital on the weekend of May 26th.
 
Many volunteers have been working diligently to find an alternate facility, prior to the dance season ending. This has been a gruelling and disappointing task, requiring a lot of time and several different attempts to find a solution.
 
We are happy to say that their efforts have paid off.
 
While this final plan is now quite different from years past, we have no other feasible options. We sincerely apologize if this change is detrimental to anyone. It is our greatest hope, that the majority of our families will be able to attend given the changes.
 
 
The year-end Recital (ALL students participate):
 
Dates:   May 16th and 17th
 
Times:   6:00 - 9:00pm on both nights
 
Location: St. Isidore Cultural centre.
 
 
Parents will be notified of the specific schedule for the students, within the next week.
 
Efforts are being made to place the students on one evening only, if at all possible. Those students that have several classes may be on both evenings. Our creative movement and primary classes will start off each performance, so that they are not scheduled too late in the evening.
 
For those not familiar with St.Isidore, a map will be available at the Studio.

Optional Extra Work Practice

The studio will be open on Saturday, April 14th from 12:00 to 3:00pm. for extra work practice.
 
 
Please RSVP the studio at prdancesociety@yahoo.ca if you are able to attend on this day.
 
If no students can participate, we will not have a Teacher open up the studio.

Flooring in Studio

 

Dear PRDS members,

 

On April 5th, 2011 the club applied for a grant through the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation.

 

The purpose of this grant application was for the purchase of proper flooring in all our studios.  The proposed flooring would consist of a shock absorbing underlay. This would provide our students the proper support needed when dancing and increase their safety.

 

We are happy to inform our members that PRDS has received a $5,000 grant for this specific request. As is currently evident, this proper flooring in now being installed.

 

We would like to extend our appreciation to the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation for their generosity and support. Their name will also be placed on our sponsor board, on the exterior of the Studio.

NEW CLASSES AVAILABLE APRIL 1, 2012

Next week (April 1st) the additional classes offered with Miss Ursula will commence.
 
The costs for each of these classes will be $50.00 per class, with five weeks of instruction time. (Easter break and Festival weeks have been excluded) These classes will run until the weekend of Recital (May 26th)
 
For students that were registered in classes that were cancelled or received less instruction time, a credit will be issued. For precision in appropriate credits being applied, we ask that the attached form be completed and returned to the office at your earliest convenience.
 
For example, some students paid for the Jazz technique class at the beginning of the season, based on the entire year of Instruction. 
As this class did not run for January, February and March, this outstanding fee credit could cover the new ballet technique class. The student also has the opportunity to re-commence their Jazz technique for the remainder of the season.
 
Should none of these additional classes fit into your current schedule, a credit for next year or a refund will be issued.
 
*exception* - Adult Fitness (Tuesday 6:30-7:30) will be charged a drop-in fee of  $10.00 per class.
